Management Accountant

Job description

We aim to enhance our Finance team by hiring a proactive and dedicated Management Accountant.

Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller, this role involves overseeing the financial operations of the assigned entities whilst ensuring precise and timely financial reporting, adherence to accounting standards, and strategic financial planning and analysis to support our overall goals.

Responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring and handling the day-to-day accounting tasks including monthly reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and other financial reports
  • Preparing and filing of VAT returns, Eco Contribution returns and any other statutory reporting required
  • Preparing accurate monthly management accounts and financial reports
  • Collaborate with operational teams to monitor KPIs and cost control
  • Mentor and oversee the work of junior staff members
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts
  • Monitoring of credit control and cash flow reporting
  • Assist with the annual audit
  • Other ad hoc duties as needed from time to time

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Management Accountant, ideally within the hospitality industry
  • Professional accounting qualification (UoM Degree, ACCA or equivalent)
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting principles
  • Experience in the preparation for management accounts
  • Meticulous individual with strong analytical skills, problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Experience using Shireburn Financial Management, Opera PMS and Simphony will be considered an asset
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
